About the blogger

Hi, I’m Jess!

Let me tell you a little about myself. I like to think of myself as an “old school” blogger, where I just share what I’m working on. No schedule, no promises, no polish. I write free patterns to share, but I’m not a “designer.” I play with graphic design tools and post on some social media (not as much lately), but I’m not a “content creator.” I disappear when life gets busy, and post 10 days in a row when I feel like catching up. It’s a lot of fun and I intend to keep it that way.

I’ve been crocheting, knitting and sewing as long as I can remember. I was taught these crafts as a child by my mother and grandmother, and learned more from “vintage” books and free online tutorials in my teens. I believe that making is about the process, not the product. I believe in switching crafts and projects when the muse strikes.

I knit continental, crochet yarn under (also known to some as WRONG) and alter every pattern I try to follow.

I am married and we have an adorable and highly energetic German Shepherd named Chewie. I work full time as an Economist and make things in the evenings and on the weekends for fun (hence the blog title!).

Chewie has floppy ears and can fit all the toys in his mouth at once.

To look at my latest projects on the blog, head on over! If you’re looking for free patterns, I have a dedicated page for that!

If any of my projects inspire your own creations, please let me know in the comments or on the contact page. I’d love to hear about what YOU made last weekend!
