Hello readers! Just popping in, now that my holiday break has started to share my two holiday makes for 2024.
Cute Crochet Reindeer
First up are two little crochet baby reindeer for my niece and nephew! You can find the pattern here (you do have to pay for it). See below for my supply list. You need some red yarn by the way, which isn’t listed on the first page of the pattern. I had some other small issues with the pattern, so I only recommend it for advanced crocheters. There are some items you’ll have to already know or learn as you go.

The fur yarn is also very hard to crochet with mainly because you can’t see the stitches. I ended up mostly feeling my way through the project. If you make a “fluffy” hat brim like I did, just work the first two rows in the pattern in white. I also used one size smaller crochet hook on the reindeer, but not the hat.

Materials:
- Main body color: NICEEC Faux Fur Yarn in Caramel (3 skeins for two reindeer)
- Dark brown for horns and hoofs: buvemu Plush Faux Fur in Chocolate Brown (1 skein)
- Cream color inside ears and nose: buvemu Plush Faux Fur in Cream (1 skein)
- Scrap black for the eyes (no safety eyes for the baby!)
- Leftover red Simply Soft yarn in burgundy
I must say this because it’s so important: the yarn is SO SOFT and totally worth the hassle. My sister in law didn’t even believe me at first that I made the reindeer (the hat is more obviously crochet).
Sparkly Snowflake Earrings
For the snowflake earrings, you can find the tatting pattern here. I found this pattern easy to understand and follow, so it’s suitable for anyone with a basic two shuttle tatting knowledge. I also worked only the first round to keep the earrings…. earring sized!

Materials:
- I used the blue color in this set of sparkly thread (colorway 2)
- I used size 15/0 seed beads in silver
- Here are the jump rings and earrings I used as well!
I’m new to the whole jewelry thing, so I didn’t realize the open jump rings would slip off the thread. I’m going to order some closed ones to replace them, but for now I just secured the jump ring that touches the motif with a little glue in the gap.
